In business, creativity is far more than a "nice to have." It's a crucial – and often underestimated – factor for success. Many entrepreneurs intuitively sense when an idea has potential. Yet, they often hold back because their idea seems different. Unusual. Surprising. Perhaps even more daring than they initially dare to be.

That's often where the crucial difference lies: in the moment you allow your creativity to flourish.

Because creativity isn't just about inventing something new. It helps you stand out from the crowd, showcase your personality, and develop unique solutions. That's precisely what makes creative ideas so valuable.

Of course, creativity isn't the only success factor. It doesn't replace strategy, clear processes, or consistent execution. But it can be a strong foundation for sustainable success – especially when applied consciously and aligned with your personality, values, and vision.

Combined with clarity, focus, and the ability to execute, creativity reveals its true power.

Because it's often not the loudest or most perfect idea that wins – but the one that is authentic, resonates with people, and is memorable.

I, too, was met with skepticism when I had the idea for womenbiz. Some asked me why I wanted to build something new again at almost 50, instead of slowing down.

But I was full of ideas. I developed womenbiz on my own terms, combined my previous experiences with new learnings, and intentionally allowed my creativity to flourish. Step by step, something unique developed from this. I came up with the name, worked on the logo, and got started.

Precisely because I originally came from healthcare and not traditional business, I took liberties that others might not have. With limited resources, I had to think creatively – and that later became one of my greatest strengths.

My creativity helped me not just go with the flow, but to approach things more freely, independently, and innovatively. Even today, womenbiz thrives on this very approach – through new event ideas, creative formats, and the willingness to forge its own path.

Incidentally, many of my best ideas arise spontaneously: while walking the dog, in the shower, or in the midst of everyday life. Blog ideas, new formats, or video concepts often appear suddenly. That's why I immediately capture them – either as a note or a voice message.

This spontaneous creativity remains one of my key motivators to this day.

Many successful women entrepreneurs also demonstrate how much power lies in bold ideas: Sara Blakely was initially met with skepticism for her shapewear idea – today, Spanx is a billion-dollar company. Whitney Wolfe Herd turned the dating world upside down with Bumble. And J.K. Rowling received numerous rejections before Harry Potter became a global success.

5 tips on how to bring more creativity into your business

Create space for ideas

Consciously plan moments free of pressure. It's often in quiet moments that the best ideas emerge.

Capture ideas immediately

Spontaneous thoughts quickly disappear. Jot them down directly or record them as a voice memo.

Challenge conventional approaches

Dare to rethink existing processes and try new approaches – even if they seem unfamiliar.

Embrace New Inspiration

Exchange, networks, and different perspectives bring fresh impetus. Creativity thrives on openness.

Dare to Implement

Ideas only unfold their full potential when you try them out. Get started, test, and gather experience.

My Personal Tip

If you have an idea that excites you – even if others might not understand it or doubt it – take it seriously. It's your idea. And it deserves to be explored and tested.

Because often, this very courage to implement is the first step towards success.

Allow yourself to think more creatively. Bigger. Freer. Braver. Just like many successful female entrepreneurs before you who trusted their own ideas. And perhaps now is the perfect moment to give your creativity more room to flourish.
