Visibility begins with a decision

Gaining visibility isn't about talent, it's a decision. Every appearance builds your confidence – start today.

When I tell people that I enjoy being on stage or hosting events, I almost always get the same response:

“Oh no – I’d be scared of that.”

Many people would prefer to avoid such situations. And honestly: I completely understand. Becoming visible and putting yourself out there can be challenging. However, for female entrepreneurs, this is precisely part of the job. Presenting yourself and your offerings is no longer an optional extra today, but an essential part of doing business.

That's why I want to share my personal experience with you.

Self-confidence comes from doing

I know very well what uncertainty can feel like. When I founded womenbiz, I was already an experienced entrepreneur in physiotherapy, but in the business world, I often felt like a newcomer at first.

At larger business events, I therefore often found myself asking:

“Do I really belong here?”

However, through conversations, small pitches, and exchanging ideas with other female entrepreneurs, I gradually learned to show up authentically there too.

These very experiences built my self-confidence. Today, I naturally attend events, network, and exchange ideas as equals – with people who help me and my business grow.

Being present doesn't mean not feeling nervous

Even after more than a hundred hosted events, numerous keynotes, and training sessions, I'm not completely relaxed before appearances. A certain level of nervousness is still part of it for me.

And honestly? That's a good thing. It helps me stay present and attentive.

What personally helps me is a small ritual: Before appearances, I dance – if possible – to my own playlist and do vocal exercises. This helps me get out of my head and back into my body, finding the right energy for my performance.

My Personal Game Changer

Presenting well doesn't mean you have to please everyone.

As soon as you stop constantly wondering how you come across to others, and instead focus on offering genuine value to your audience, an incredible amount changes.

That's exactly what makes presenting easier. Nervousness decreases, and your presence automatically transforms.

Getting straight to the point is a sign of respect

Especially at networking events or during presentations, I quickly notice when people don't get to the point. My mind often wanders then.

That's why I try – even though I love to talk – to communicate as clearly and precisely as possible. During presentations or conversations, I consciously observe my counterpart or the audience and sense if their attention is still there.

Because an important part of good presentations is the ability to articulate things understandably and clearly. Whether in a conversation, networking, or on stage: nobody wants to listen unnecessarily long.

Clarity and structure are therefore not just communication techniques, but also a sign of respect.

Visibility is not a talent

Stage presence, charisma, and self-confidence are not qualities that some people are simply born with. They develop with every experience and every situation we face.

Even though I enjoy being on stage today, that doesn't mean I'm never nervous. During my training as a keynote speaker, one thought in particular helped me:

Showing up authentically is not a risk – but a great opportunity.

An opportunity to make your message visible.

An opportunity to build trust.

And an opportunity to sustainably advance your business.

Therefore: Seize these opportunities and practice becoming visible.

I wish you great courage!
