Who is behind Cohaga and how did your story begin?

The story of Cohaga didn’t begin as a typical start-up, but with a very specific problem.

In November 2015, whilst studying economics, Fabio Mätzler took on what seemed like a simple task: a client was looking for an Excel list of all care homes in Switzerland. He accepted the request and, without realising it, laid the foundations for his company. The demand for structured data was enormous. Step by step, a student job evolved into a scalable business model. Today, it has grown into Switzerland’s leading address broker, with data from over 120 sectors, more than 2,000 clients and a team of around 30 employees.

At the same time, Isabel Bischof brought a complementary perspective to the table. She began her career in auditing at KPMG in 2016, supporting companies across Switzerland for three years, and graduated from the University of St. Gallen in 2019. During this time, she realised the importance of data in an increasingly digitalised economy – particularly in the context of Industry 4.0.

These two perspectives led to the founding of cohaga AG in 2020. Their shared vision: to help companies manage growth systematically and data-driven, particularly at the intersection of marketing and sales.

Today, Cohaga is taking it a step further. With the development of new products such as ranQ, the company is focusing on making businesses visible precisely where purchasing decisions are increasingly being made: in AI systems. In doing so, Cohaga is addressing one of the biggest shifts in digital behaviour: the transition from traditional search to AI-based recommendations.

Another milestone was reached in March 2026: following six years of entirely self-funded (bootstrapped) growth, a capital increase took place.

Cohaga is now backed by two experienced investors from the tech and SaaS sectors. These new financial resources enable the company to further drive its product development and market position.

Cohaga is thus evolving from a data provider into a strategic partner for companies that want to actively manage customer acquisition – in a world where visibility is being redefined.
